“For me, it is only the surrounding atmosphere which gives subjects their true value.”-Monet

The concept of this project came to me as I was taking a walk in my neighborhood, a little while after the sun set and the sky was a dusky pinkish periwinkle color. The atmosphere around me almost had an ethereal quality to it. The various types of flora and fauna that were grouped together to form the mountains reminded me of strokes of paint from Impressionist paintings. I often looked to Berthe Morisot and Monet’s paintings. My muse for this project is a prairie girl who wanders these dreamy fields and romanticizes every aspect of the environment around her as if she was creating a painting, and eventually she fully embodies this “painting” and becomes a part of it.
